AI hallucinations: the one risk owners can’t accept.

General AI doesn’t lie. It guesses, fluently. When a model doesn’t know something, it produces the most plausible-sounding answer instead of stopping. In casual use, that’s a quirk. In a board deck, a client report, or an estimate, it’s a liability with your signature on it.

And plausibility is exactly what makes it dangerous. An obviously wrong answer gets caught. A believable one sails through review at 9pm when you’re tired, which is precisely when recurring writing gets done.

Why “just review it” isn’t a strategy

Owners tell us their fix is careful review. But review that has to catch anything, anywhere, every time, is not a control. It’s a hope. The failure mode isn’t the day you review carefully; it’s the hundredth document, the busy week, the number that looked fine. If every draft can contain invention, every review carries the full risk. That’s why general chatbots disappoint owners who put real work through them.

What removes the guessing

The fix isn’t a smarter model. It’s a governed one. A governed system runs under written rules approved before it drafts a word, and the first rule of every JazzSlate build is absolute: it never invents a number, a fact, or a promise. If a figure isn’t in your data, it doesn’t appear in your draft. Period.
