Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how JazzSlate (“JazzSlate,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit jazzslate.com (the “Site”), submit an application or inquiry through the Site, or otherwise interact with us. It also explains, at a high level, how information is handled in connection with the AI systems we build for clients. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you submit our application or contact forms, we collect the information you choose to give us, which may include your name, business name, email address, phone number, industry, and your answers to questions about your business, its operations, and its goals. If you communicate with us by email, phone, or scheduled call, we collect the contents of those communications.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect standard technical information, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and timestamps. This may be collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies, including analytics tools.
Information we do not seek through the Site. The Site is a business-to-business service and is not intended to collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, or financial account information). Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the Site’s forms.
2. How we use information
- To evaluate applications and determine whether a prospective client is a fit for our services;
- To respond to inquiries, schedule consultations, and communicate with you;
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve our services and the Site;
- To send administrative and, where permitted, marketing communications (you may opt out of marketing at any time);
- To protect the security and integrity of the Site and our business, and to detect and prevent fraud or abuse;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. Client engagements and AI systems
Engagement data is governed by the engagement agreement. When JazzSlate builds an AI system for a client, the business information, documents, and data the client provides for that build (“Client Materials”) are governed by the written services agreement between JazzSlate and that client. In the event of any conflict between this Policy and a services agreement, the services agreement controls with respect to Client Materials.
Client systems run in client-controlled environments. Systems we build are deployed in infrastructure and accounts controlled by the client. JazzSlate does not sell Client Materials and does not use a client’s confidential business information to train models or systems offered to other parties.
Client responsibility for their own data. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have all rights, consents, and lawful bases required for the data they provide to their systems — including, where applicable, notices and consents for call recording and for the personal information of their own customers. JazzSlate is not responsible for a client’s compliance with laws applicable to the client’s own data practices.
Third-party AI models. Systems we build may use third-party AI model providers as processors of content submitted to them. The specific providers and configurations for a given build are addressed in the applicable services agreement.
4. How we share information
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf — such as website hosting, form processing, scheduling, customer-relationship management, e-mail delivery, and analytics — under obligations to use it only to provide those services.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of JazzSlate, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. If JazzSlate is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of its assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to reasonable confidentiality protections.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Cookies and analytics
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality and analytics. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect Site functionality. The Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals, for which no industry standard exists.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy — including evaluating and servicing engagements — and as required for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes, after which we delete or de-identify it.
7. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security. You provide information at your own risk.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and the right to opt out of certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below; we will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents. California law entitles you to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the purposes of collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared, and to request deletion or correction. As stated above, we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
EEA/UK visitors. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our lawful bases are performance of a contract or steps at your request before entering one (applications, consultations), legitimate interests (operating and protecting the Site and our business), consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
9. International transfers
JazzSlate operates from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
10. Children
The Site is intended for business owners and professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and material changes may be communicated by additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
13. Contact us
Questions, requests, or complaints regarding this Policy or your personal information can be directed to JazzSlate at michael@jazzslate.com.
